Executive Portaits
I have learned to approach each portrait as blank canvas because there are so
many techniques in camera angle, lens choice, lighting styles, body angles,
poses and background treatment which can be used to compliment the person's
features. I analyse each person's features and use the lighting and perspective controls
to make them look their best. I incorporate all lighting styles, from low-key dramatic lighting which emphasizes each pore of the skin (made famous by Yousuf Karsh of Ottawa, Canada) to high-key soft lighting which is often used in high fashion photography. However, for most people I use a
blend of styles to achieve the most complimentary result. I feel that my
goal is to produce a look that my client is comfortable with and that makes
them look their best.
